Even though the map shows where it should be, it is hard to spot the site. Although it is the largest stone circle in mainland Scotland, I was a bit underwhelmed. Not the place to go when it has been raining hard and the field...More

Its NOT easy to find - we used the postcode and satnav. But well worth visiting if youre nearby, very atmospheric. Because its so big the stones seem small in the photos. I tried to use my compass to identify the orientation, as the day...More

GPS lies, you need to exit A76 on to Glasgow Road and take your second left (right over the bridge) ... where that road intersects B729, park right there on the corner. You'll see a gate in the southeast, that's your field of stones. The...More

I had no problem finding it. Apple maps had no idea where it was but Google Maps got me right there. Nowhere but road to park (I squeezed on left side farm entrance and walked back to path). Circle easy to see and interesting in...More

It took myeslf and my daughter a long time to find this place. It is not sign posted until you are there and then only on a footpath sign. Considering it is supposed to be of importance it's a pity that it's hidden away (it...More

We are staying nearby, so decided to walk (along the busy road, no footpath). Sadly our visit was stymied by muck-spreading around the stones (no sniggering at the back) and an impenetrable hedge. It's not Stonehenge!
