Fairly tale castle set within lovely grounds at the head of Loch Fyne in the charming town of Inveraray. Some fine walks and quality dining to be had close by

Beautiful castle with a great location. Guide book was too expensive at £6! The guide boards in each room gave enough information and I particularly liked the “Did you know “ pieces of information on each board. The photographs of the family made the castle...More

The one thing that i found interesting was the history of the owners were displayed in a combination of portraits from the past up to the current owner in photographs. This is a small and perfectly formed castle steeped in history. Dogs are welcome on...More

A lovely place to visit. Beautiful rooms. Interesting to read the history of the castle and its generations who have lived here. Unfortunately was unable to visit the grounds as experiencing Storm Hector at the time but looked lovely what we could see.

Wonderful visit to a splendid castle. Staff outstanding. Great tour guide her first year of doing this role - young lady, ginger hair with nose rings (sorry I did not note your name! You were excellent knowledgable, friendly and amusing).

Our CIE coach took us here for a tour. The castle and grounds are gorgeous. It was interesting to find out about the Duke of Argyll, and the history of Clan Campbell. There are gardens and tea room to enjoy.

It was enjoyable to visit Inveraray Castle. It was interesting to see how the family lived throughout the years. The castle and grounds were lovely.

We enjoyed seeing a castle with its decor intact, as Edinburgh and Stirling Castles seemed pretty bare. This castle isn’t as old as the aforementioned castles, but it is really nicely decorated and the garden is pretty.

We found out about this castle while researching my husband's ancestry. After learning so much about the Clan Campbell, we decided to visit the family seat in person. We were especially excited to go after watching Downton Abbey and realizing Inveraray Castle was featured on...More

As previous reviews have mentioned this gorgeous castle in great detail, we shall talk instead about the oil paintings depicting various purebred dog breeds. For canine fanciers, this castle presents a marvelous opportunity to see dogs through the ages. Included are various hunting breeds, terriers,...More

My memory is that you paid as you entered the parking lot. Not sure if you could enter the grounds for a lower price or not. I will say the interior is amazing and worth the price!
