We walked the whole length of the walls and despite the weather - it was wet and windy to begin with - we had a really good day. We stopped off for coffee and cake and enjoyed looking at the independent shops.

Great walk on the walls full of interesting info on Derry and the walled city.. plenty of gates to leave and drop in to different streets. Gives you a great way to map out the city.

The walls are only a mile but can be hilly. So well preserved and wide enough fir a family to all walk together. There are lots of stops on the way to see. A great day out.

The old city walls are intact and wide enough to walk on. Nice views of the city can be had from there. A nice outdoor activity. Fun for tourists and kids.

No, you can do it yourself. But it’s not expensive to do the tour and the guide provides valuable insights into the city’s history and difficult conflicts.
