Not only are these murals vibrant and well painted, they also portray the time of the Troubles form both the Unionist (Protestant) and the Catholic points of view. Highly recommend seeing them with a guide.

Took a discreet walk along the Falls Road to look at the famous (or infamous) Republican murals on a recent tour of Belfast, having never seen them live before. Despite being from the Republic many miles from Northern Ireland and not being a supporter of...More

Saturday afternoon 29th April and we took a drive around Falls and Shankill Roads and we saw the various murals on both roads, Republican and Loyalist. Each mural tells in pictures the horrors that the people of Northern Ireland endured in their recent history. The...More

Visited the Murals of West Belfast late in the evening, on a cold and windy day, so maybe that made it even more heart-wrenching. As you walk along the streets you might come across residents who will volunarily stop and tell you stories about the...More

Lots of people opt to go on an organised tour of the murals - either on foot or in a taxi - but since it would have worked out quite expensive for us to do that as just a couple, we decided to go it...More

We were on a bus as we drove through looking at the murals. Wish we could have spent more time and had a local explain some of the murals as we did in Derry. It is amazing how recent this history is.

We were amazed at the murals in Belfast and Derry. Our guide told us so much about the history and suffering. It is important to have a good guide to explain the religious conflict between the north and south. To stand there and see where...More

We walked around for ages looking at these beautiful pieces of art, some may disagree with this but truly that's what they are. They tell the stories of proud men fighting for the beliefs. It feels a bit weird as an outsider wandering around people's...More
