This place is always buzzing. Sometimes a bit too much, but on a sunny day, sitting outside with a drink surrounded by some top class architecture and a choice of places to eat and such a good music venue in the Millennium centre as well,...More
There are some interesting new buildings here, though the National Opera one was cluttered with external detailing. Zaha Hadid won the competition to design this building and was twice refused. Now she is dead. Her masterly and extraordinary talent would have made that place a...More
Nice selection of restaurants to suit all tastes. There are always different events going on in the bay. There is also a lovely walk around to the barrage with the option to hire bicycles just for yourself or ones for you to seat the children...More
Great place to visit on a summer evening with a good vibe. Loads of places to eat depending on what you want & a pleasant walk along the front. Great for supper before a show in the Millenium centre as well
Went earlier to have a drink & something to eat in Cardiff Bay before going to the theatre . Plenty of places to eat/drink - always busy with a nice atmosphere . Beautiful too in the Summer when you can sit outside & watch the...More
Took a bus here from Cardiff Arcade to have a look. You can catch Mathilda in theatre but I did not do so. Instead, I dined while overlooking the pier. It was a windy and chilly day with relatively good weather. Nice to hang around...More
Bitterly cold wind, dozens of cafes take always, fish and chip mentality, Don like at all. Such a miss mash of such ugly horrible buildings, the Welsh Assembly foreground is paved in Welsh slate is continually wet, uncomfortable to walk on.
THERE IS nothing there...More

Hi, we went to Cardiff Bay for the Food and Drink Festival last month That is when to go for food, music and atmosphere....fantastic for families. I think we've got the last booking for accommodation for next, though we did this as soon as we came back. Regardless there are so many great restaurants for multi cuisines all over Mermaid Quay that you can just pop in. Most days there are live buskers playing. Our favourites are Zizzi and Bellinins , which are on the upper terraces ...but there are too many to mention. A boat ride round the harbour and up the Taff is well worth doing....There are all day oriental buffets in the Red Dragon Centre , which are well worth the money....Enjoy.
