The guide bought it to life.

Our guide was excellent and we gained by being the only two on the tour. The whole place is a fantasy come to live and shows what can happen when a high victorian obsessive is given an unlimited budget! Totally over the top but do go.

What a wonderful place to visit.
We booked our tickets online in advance (which was easy to do). The welcome we received from the team on the gate house (checking our booking and ensuring we had the map and knew where to go was brilliant and helpful.
Black Tower Tour is well worth a visit (£4 per person extra) but a good tour for all ages bringing to life the castle. Our guide (11am on 14th Sept) was brilliant and knowledgeable, engaging and funny.
It’s a attraction definitely set up for visitors and tourists and well worth the visit and great value for money.
The customer service received was wonderful - all of the team are a credit to the attraction. 👍

Really great day out at Cardiff Castle
Sep 2021
We visited Cardiff Castle on Sunday 12th September. It was a very interesting and informative tour of the house, castle and museum. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were greeted by Keith at the entrance who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. The site has over 2000 years of history and the staff are more than happy to give you helpful information as you go round the various exhibitions. The entrance fee is very reasonable for such a good day full of history.

A Cardiff must do……

Had a great half a day in the castle, upgraded our general admission to a tour of the house and clock tower, extra £4 each per upgrade, reasonable price and enhances the experience! Tour guides informative and worth while!

Felt a bit unsure getting around the castle as didn’t know where to go to make sure we saw everything! TIP: make good use of the castle staff in asking for direction, they were all so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble!

Had a great time here, wish we had gone in earlier so could have spent a little longer browsing! Good fun, not to be missed when visiting cardiff!

Castle is situated right in the centre of the city next to shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, make sure to visit Bute gardens, next to the castle for a entertaining stroll!

Great castle with lots for children to see snd do! We got to try out some swords and helmets from the different eras. The grounds are beautiful and the going up the keep is brilliant. The staff were really knowledgeable and answered all our questions! Lots of space around the grounds so you could take a picnic too!

It was our first time at the castle and we weren’t disappointed. The regimental museum was fantastic with lots of exhibits and history to review. The air raid shelter walk was very interesting and all in all, a very good experience.

Great day out
Aug 2021
The grounds inside the walls were very clean. Unfortunately there was a lot of litter around there outsides where people were picnicking. There is a lot to explore and look at inside we thoroughly enjoyed our time

Great Castle... Shame about DinoLand
Aug 2021 • Couples
So the Castle is great I mean what Castle isn't.... its Big, Its Tall, Its Wide and it really is Pretty
The Gardens/Park around the castle are amazing huge Trees and lovely plants everywhere. Lots of people jogging, chatting and even picnicking which is all so mad to see if you could only think all those years ago I doubt they thought this is what would be going on around the Castle.
Now I'm not one to usually moan but the DinoLand that has just been plonked infront of the Castle Ruined the whole day for me..... It is a load of huge Plastic Dinosaur statues that move there head and roar which is very loud the only thing you can hear over the racket of moany roaring Dinosaurs is the screaming and crying of ALL the children. I personally found it very distracting and unnecessarily loud. I wanted to visit the Castle and have some time to think about to when it was built and what those people where doing back then unfortunately this was interrupted by the loud moan of large plastic and the word mummmmmm
