This beautiful church is clearly loved by the community who take care of it. Upon entering I was given a very warm welcome by a friendly old gentleman sitting by the door. Local school children were using the church as a play and learning area,...More

At the entrance, there is a notice that welcomes people of the Christian faith, other faiths, or no faith at all. I don't think anybody could remain unmoved by the beauty of the architecture, externally and internally. As a practicing Christian, I enjoyed the peaceful...More

I found myself in Wrexham today with a few hours to spare. While having a wander I came across this beautiful church. It’s really worth making a special visit if ever your over that way.

We recently had the good fortune to bump into the tour officer as we were wandering around the grounds of this magnificent church. Unfortunately the church wasn't open so we were unable to view the inside of the building. However, the tour officer enlightened us...More

As a professional tour guide I visit a lot of interesting places, St Giles is one such place, it lies at the heart of Wrexham but has so much about it, one can spend hours studying the architecture or the history of the church itsself,...More

St Giles is an amazing church and I've been fortunate to attend services here over the past 50 years! As well as being the parish Church of Wrexham, it is also the Regimental Chapel of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, which is sadly no longer in...More

This church can be found pretty much in the town centre of Wrexham. The exterior looks very impressive but once you go inside you will be amazed at the level of detail and in particular the stained glass windows all around the church.

Very impressive church. Would have been a cathedral but the bishops set up shop elsewhere. I was very taken with the Doom Painting - a very early wall painting. Great stained glass too. A real gem.

We visited on a cold morning in November, and was delighted to find the church open, and being cleaned. The church is very impressive in scale. The tower is rated as one of the seven wonders of Wales, and inside the large nave is equally...More

I can't answer for the tours part of your question, but the church is accessible during the day and there always seem to be people around to answer any questions you may have. Enjoy your visit!
