Split over six levels, Pontio is Bangor University’s brand new arts and innovation centre. The Grimshaw-designed building in the centre of Bangor is home to a flexible mid-scale theatre named after the world-famous bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, a studio theatre which holds up to 120 people, a 200-seater digital cinema, a cutting-edge Innovation Centre and a wide range of facilities for students, including a new home for the Students’ Union and numerous learning and teaching spaces. It also offers food and drink at Bar Ffynnon, Gorad restaurant, food kiosk Copa and Cegin café. Pontio offers an eclectic mix of entertainment seven days a week, from the latest film releases to music and drama, gigs, contemporary circus and aerial theatre, cabaret shows and more.

Two of us went to see the Royal Opera House link of La Boheme in the cinema. What a superb performance and a fabulous view! We thought the view was definitely better than being at the stage performance itself - and for far less money!...More

Pirates of the Carribean was showing so we decided to pre book a 20:15 Saturday showing after we accquired bsbysitters. At £7.50 its a couple of quid cheaper than Cineworld down the road and not a whole lot worse. The seating isnt quite as comfortable...More
