Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and offers an extraordinarily rich and varied day out. Throughout its history, the Castle has been redecorated, enlarged and rebuilt. Today The Queen spends most of her private weekends at the Castle, which is also used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions. Your ticket to Windsor Castle includes entry to our exhibition Waterloo at Windsor.

To say gorgeous and breath taking is an understatement, well maintained and plenty to see. Kids really enjoyed it and and loved being able to stand where it all happened only weeks earlier for the wedding. Will visit again and so much history to absorb.

It was great to visit and the chapel as well as the outside were highlights (eg the moat) but the state rooms were a disappointment. The audio guide was ok (but fiddly and kept crashing) but there was little by way of labels on paintings...More

The castle itself and the grounds are just breathtakingly beautiful but getting in was a shambles. We purchased our tickets online but didn't print them. On arrival at the gate on Saturday morning at 9.55am we encountered a rather long queue. We went to the...More

We had read earlier reviews and pre-paid our tickets which helped enormously on the day. We did have to wait maybe 10 mins outside before being ushered past the long line to the ticketbooths and got through security quite quickly and then picked up the...More

Windsor Castle, much like the queen herself, is a national treasure. It was impressive for the historical point of view, but it was also impressive for the personal point of view. The queen actually lives her and makes her home her and in a strange...More

Definitely worth seeing even if doll house isn't on display . Hampton court is the one I would drop but you may prefer this attraction over Windsor. Buckingham palace will be the Highlight for sure. Safe travels :)

The guard parade through the town and into the castle playing their instruments. Not every day though. Look at the website. Inside the castle thy play for an extra 15 minutes which is lovely. Check website for times and route
