We couldn't go through the gates to see Eton, but enjoyed the walk in the nearby area. Lots of quaint shops en route.

Walk over the bridge from Windsor and into the village of Eton, where there are a wonderful collection of shops and cafes, and walk towards the college. Some beautiful buildings can be seen, some dating back to the 15th century. A nice walk.

Amazing place: great buildings and beautiful grounds. Enjoy a stroll around the gardens and sit by the river.

Not for everybody an education like this, it is interesting to see how little has changed when it comes to equality in education! Did you know that when it was founded it was for the poor and not the rich!

Prince William may have been whisked by armored car, but it is an easy walk from Eton for tea with grandmother at Windsor Castle (which he did, once a week, when she was in residence). You, too, can walk easily from Windsor to Eton College...More

We enjoyed our walk through Eton but it was a Monday afternoon & the town was pretty quiet. It was a good way to just look around the magnificent buildings. One cannot go into the buildings such as the chapel & we tried to see...More
