I would recommend starting at West Kenett Long Barrow and walking down the avenue to Avebury to really get a feel for the complex. We drove as we had a three year old with us, but even so it was astounding to come upon it...More

Due to our visiting on one of the hottest days of the year we only walked a small section of West Kennet Avenue. As the whole area is so interesting we will hopefully revisit again soon & complete the whole Avenue.

Away from the main stones the Avenue is a wonderful site to come across as they come in view. Each stone I am sure has a story to tell, each different and I am sure had a reason when they were originally set. Wonderful picturesque...More

Great walk, it really gives you an idea of the massiveness of the site. Walking the avenue it really gives you a glimpse of what might have been at the time to approach the stone circle. A must see. Great for children too.

Just up the road from the Avebury stone circle and parallel to the main road. The Avenue is an avenue of ancient stones ... and walking through the middle gives a fabulous feeling of walking through time. It's hugely unspoilt and a real treat to...More

On the way to Avebury Henge we saw a row of stones and stopped to investigate. These stones are lined up parallel to form an avenue leading to the Henge at Avebury and the Long Barrow at Kennet.

An interesting site you can walk, or see from the car depending on age and fitness. A minor attraction adding to the Avebury whole.

Marvel at the scale of this Neolithic monument. Best to walk down here and approach the village and the stones to get an idea of the scale of the whole thing.
