Lovely little pub right in the centre of town but a little out of the way with plenty of sports to be able to watch :)

Walking along and saw the sigh for the Oldest Pub in leeds, so walked in. The Beer was great and the Barman very friendly and that's about it. Maybe I thought it would be more older looking. Don't let this put you off, the food looks good, but did not have any and the pub was busy too

We have always loved calling in here for our lunch on a Saturday afternoon after a hard shop. The food has always been great, satisfying and worth the money. We were so disappointed however, to call in a couple of weeks ago to find that the whole menu has beenchanged to one that only does pies, nothing else but pies. I don't mind a pie every now and again but with so little choice now and with my wife and daughter both not liking pie, we just drank up and went elsewhere. Such a shame but until this great little pub changes its drab menu back to something with some amount of choice and variation, I'm afraid we will be frequenting other establishments.

Never ever have i been asked to leave a pub before, but the fact we live in the local area (0.3), when for a good 20mins other people was been serviced, only good thing about here was the part time bar man that apologize after the younger co landlord told us to f off

Thus used to be my local when I was a student in Leeds over ten years ago and I'm pleased to see it has managed to retain its rugged charm (that is, it is probably even more rugged now). This is an old-school boozer that attracts a fine mix of students, academics and locals. It's a pity they've thrown out the pool table, but apart from that it has changed very little. It stocks beer from the local brewery Burley street brew house and prices are more than reasonable. If you're ever in Leeds, make this pub one of your ports of call. You will not be disappointed.

I suppose we were disappointed because we were expecting it to be olde world inside for the pub which claims it is the oldest in Leeds. Goodish beer selection but the decor too modern and music a bit loud - maybe because we sat at the top level. Service good though.

2nd random visit to the Pack Horse and not disappointed. Spent a very pleasant early evening visit watching the cricket in the big screen with a couple of the regulars,. Bar staff (Igor) was very friendly and helpfully offered us a tab for the evening, stuck a couple of pies on there and made a night of it - Pieminister and mash was delicious- will definitely make a beeline for the Packhorse on our next visit to Leeds
