The Mill proved to be fascinating for my kids Age 9 and 13). They were intreagued by the workings of the mill and enjoyed following through the story of how the mill was used. We visited on a wet day and it was a great place to shelter for an hour. The victorian house was well set up and again provided lots of discussion in relation to the artifacts. The whole environment was well set up, informative and interesting. It will be great to come again once the covid rules are relaxed further. Gardens were out of action due to weather.

We went in October half term. The kids were impressed with the water wheel turning so many pieces of equipment in different parts of the building.I also was fascinated. Picnic tables were provided outside next to the canal and other places, also inside in case it was cold.No food was for sale. Staff were friendly and helpful.

My two teenage daughters and I visited on the very sunny August bank holiday. Lovely place for a picnic and seeing the water wheel in operation was great. We all had a good afternoon out.

Its some kind of mill, with an old house. But detail as to its history is mostly absent and what is there is all over the shop. Something to do with crushing "materials", which you sort of half come to understand at some point was "chalk". The house has three or four unexplained rooms of different eras. Again, a missed or half-cocked opportunity. Gardens make for a pleasant walk albeit mostly through a path cut through stinging nettles. Might go back but shan't be rushing to do so.
