This church was built during the reign of Charles 1. Very few churches were built in this era. Although it was over restored during the 19th century some of the original features are still in place. For example the plasterwork ceiling is more usual to...More

Visited this church as this was where my mother was christened in 1926. Quite dark inside with dark wood and a carved screen. The stained glass windows are so beautiful. Got so many things to see. A nice peaceful place right in the middle of...More

This unused church is fascinating. Lovely pews and windows. Smells of old age, but is well kept. Worth a visit

Visited during the light festival. Great place - old church surrounded by modern buildings. Light festival lit it up though - great dandelion clock like plastic lights. Some great outdoor stained glass as well. Loved it

Visited here but sadly the church was closed. It's only open on certain days and, even then, only for a few hours, closing at 2.30. Set in a nice green park right in the city centre. Apparently, the oldest church in the city.

Went along for the Christmas Tree Festival and was completely bowled over at just how beautiful the building is. The added bonus of hearing the bells peeling on a Sunday is a delight and that many images of the town include the tower and spire...More
