Having visited around twenty Cathedral cities it was a massive disappointment to discover it closed at lunchtime. No obvious church function or any other reason given. No opening closing times given. If it had been a Sunday....but it was a Saturday. Big mistake.

I am not religious, but, can appreciate good architecture and this was one of the most stunning minsters that I have been in-well worth a look for the stained glass windows and ornate work inside.

Have to admit I like visiting churches and this is a really good one. Beautiful inside and as you would expect filled with history. Only 10 mins walk from the station so well worth taking a detour.

I saw this on my map so wandered the couple of blocks from the Victorian Quadrant area to reach it. My luck was in, as on Fridays at 12.30pm there is a free organ concert. It is a large building with a beige and cream...More
