Thus was a surprise library Visited it on a walking tour which was from Victoria square (excellent tour). A must to go to the 7th floor with a secret garden and exceptional views Escalating down from 4 gives a circular view of the library

It's a library... so quite why it has to look so out of place and "contemporary" is baffling... it doesn't really contribute to the surrounding area visually (other than perhaps as an eyesore) and seems to have cost an awful lot of money that could...More

Very great range of books available here, took out a few science fiction novels for general use. The building itself is magnificent and easy to navigate.

Good design elements are a feature of the Birmingham library - the façade is a landmark and helped me to orientate myself when venturing around the city - internal space is open and easy to navigate to the various books and displays.

I needed somewhere to work for a few hours and this was a handy and comfortable alternative to a coffee bar. Air conditioned and quiet. Great exterior and an impressive interior. Get there before all floors open and you can still work in or browse...More
