A traffic free area !! There is currently much transformation in progress in preparation for hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2022. The square - centre of the city - is dominated by an impressive landscape of the Council House, Town Hall and wide sweeping steps....More

This is perhaps the oldest civic square in the city, and it affords a wonderful view of the frontage of the Council House. There aren't really any cafes in the square itself where you could linger, although there are a few on the edge of...More

Very busy when we visited due to the commonwealth games handover. Lots of civic buildings around make this an attractive area.

Yes, it is very touristy, cliche and overpriced, but it is still one of the best Christmas markets I have visited outside of central Europe. I loved trying all the hot drinks and typical treats, the atmosphere was simply magical with people singing and just...More

Beautiful square in the heart of the city. There is quite a bit of regeneration going on in this area at the moment, with the introduction of new tram lines. Sculptures both modern and traditional can be seen here. We were here on a weekday...More

The statues and water features are just so beautiful and interesting. A lot of different places go sit and take in the beauty or it all.

An important square in Birmingham by the Council House mail entrance and with an excellent statue od Victoria and more modern artwork. Shame that the 'Floozy' is no longer in the 'Jacuzzi'. Interesting standard lenghth markers adjacent to the town hall.

The rest of the town was laid back and chilled out. This part of Birmingham was very busy. It had a lot of footfall of shoppers, musicians and the likes.

The market gets really busy in the evening, there's no entertainment for kids other than a merry go round near the church.

Snow hill car park is reasonable, it's less than a 5 minute walk to the German market
