Statue of Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson AKA Nelson between the two halves of bullring facing towards St Martins Church about 20-25' high spprox, now protected by iron railings.

Beautiful statue surrounded by Birmingham's newest shopping attraction. This statue has been in Birmingham since 1810 and nobody would be more surprised than Nelson to see him end up surrounded by shops.

Lovely statue of an important rogue and Englishman. I can see how planners thought it a good location but in fact coming down the slope to the markets one misses it and coming up the steps against crowds ...one misses it again. Should be one...More

A few years ago the Nelson statue was put back in a similar position as it was before the Bull Ring Centre was all altered in the 1960's and was completely reworked a second time. Statue put up in 1809

Horatio Nelson visited Birmingham in 1802 and this was the first figurative memorial (1809) built in the United Kingdom to him.
