After a long train journey what better way to end the evening that a pint of on-the-premises brewed beer. Well, that is what the Split Chimp offers, underneath a railway arch of a viaduct in one of the oldest areas of Newcastle. Serving a range...More

Great spot. Sitting here content with a cracking pint of Sunshine IPA. Worth a visit. Good choice of cask, keg and cider too (if you're into that sort of thing😁

Was let down by a place over the bridge after it closed down suddenly. As I had invited friends from all over the UK I needed somewhere to accommodate upto 40 people in a relaxed atmosphere with great Real Ale. The manager was approached and...More

I’ve been to loads of places and I see my previous review of here is bottom of their league. Back here with my mate. Easy to get served, decent blonde beer (their own) and other choices. It’s relaxed. Perhaps not enough seats. Not sure what...More

With a microbrewery and a bar stocked with that ethos, this is a real winner. There are plenty of interesting things on tap, pump or in bottles, and something for everyone. The food choice is limited but the pies we saw looked very nice -...More

I came here for a poetry night, and was very impressed. Good beers, decently priced, friendly staff, a full sized skittles alley upstairs, odd but nice decor. It's a great little place, well worth a visit.

Hi, many thanks for this great rating and review, although we no longer have the Skittle Alley there is now a bar and function room instead, and we still have the great beers at a good price. Best wishes, Mark.

Been here a couple of times and really like the place. It’s basic, clean and compact but has some great beers and a very relaxing atmosphere. A great place to spend an afternoon if you like proper beer.
