All of the public consultations and the town planning have finally come together and Whitley Bay is on the way up. The Spanish City Dome project has totally revitalised a well known, iconic landmark which must now look as good as the day it was...More

So good to see a beautiful British seaside resort Lots of new restarants to complement the refreshed Dome and Lighthouse. We had a great walk along the new Promenade, enjoying refreshments along the walk. So enjoyable on a fabulous sunny day. Always yake another layer...More

Further to my last review of Parkdean Resort’s Whitley Bay Caravan Park I am adding an amendment to my review to say that we would NEVER come here again!! You’d expect that your property would be safe and secure locked up in your Caravan whilst...More

Lots of wonderful shops, many unique! A small town but plenty of places to eat and explore. Don't expect amusements and donkey rides, but do expect a great day hopping and building sandcastles! Clean beach and lovely locals.

We parked on a street behind the dome where there was a kids play area (they loved the water play). Then had a wander down to the seafront and beach, got foggier as the day went on but we still really enjoyed our day and...More

Whitley Bay is a popular seaside resort and it is easy to see why. Although the centre of town is rather uninspiring, it has enough bars, cafes and restaurants to keep most visitors happy. Its best feature is undoubtedly the coastal strip, which has large...More

A great little town on the way up again. Sea front being developed, great little hotels (The Lighthouse Hotel) and great friendly eateries (Evan's Bistro). Only ever see happy, smiley people here. I may just move here......despite the North Sea 'breeze'!

We visited Whitley Bay for the first time during our second ever visit to the N.E. Was pleasantly surprised. Although there are a lot if regenerating works going in at the moment we really enjoyed Whitley Bay and should imagine when all works are completed...More

The regeneration of The Dome is nearly finished, the promenade from Watts Slope to the Rendezvous Cafe is complete, the new sea defences are coming to an end too. Lots of new places to eat have opened up on the seafront. Almost time to move...More

Yes, but even that is diminishing. It may be that if the whole tenor of the place was raised they would disappear forever. While it is cheap cheerful and a bit low grade they will prosper to the detriment of the place as a... More
