Visited here on a week day when there were a couple of school parties. The exhibitions were well done and well thought out.. a lot of taxidermy! The noise however was incredible from screaming children who were running around..

Hi Jill, I think you have the wrong museum. It is the Great North Museum: Hancock that has all the animals, not Discovery Museum. Regards, Discovery Museum team

This museum is a great place to spend quality time with children. Teach them about history of engines, life over several decades and some scientific experiences. They always have something new to keep your children occupied.

Amazing resource, and for free, but donations of course are greatly received, amazing exhibits, especially all the old Industrial Collections, easy to get around, nice clean toilets, decent staff, easy to find, very central, don't miss this on your stay in Newcastle
