Excellent walks around this Park.Lovely Bird Sanctuary and very informative Volunteer Staff.Lots of horses and a Reindeer roaming in enclosed areas.Good to see lots of walkers using this excellent facility.

Really good time yesterday collecting leaves, berries etc to make paint and do pictures. Grandkids loved it and was an inexpensive couple of hours. Will have to try other events sometime.

Even though it used to be an old pit heap it is now a beautiful area for walkers, runners, bikers and riders. Set in Newcastle's green belt the are many tracks to explore.

Large park, can spend all day here. There's an on site car park, kids play area & activity centre for pre-booked kids activities. There's a cafe with outside seating, there's also an asda & mcdonalds right next to the park. Lots of different signposted walks,...More

A great little place off the beaten track. Good food and excellent walks around the area. Holds a variety of classes for children and babies.

Worst cafe I've ever been in. The fruit scones were like bricks £1.60 each. The hot chocolate was cold the replacement was warm. Wasps everywhere even inside. Tables dirty and uncleared. First and last time for me

The wider Rising Sun Country Park is open 24/7 and is free for the public to enjoy, we have lovely woodland walks and nature reserves and extend right up to the top of Rising Suh hill with views over the Tyne Valley. Some... More

The wider Country Park is free and open 24/7. The Countryside Centre is free with ample parking. We have a cafe, toilets and play areas is open 9am until around dusk (closing time is seasonal please phone for more details... More
