This was a great little find. I loved the all of the pieces that the museum had to share. The stories that were behind everything there, try and read all of it! It's not too large so it's doable. Not very expensive either!

I love our town but this 'museum' really isn't very good. The items on display seemed a little random, there was no flow. What artifacts were present weren't that interesting. Its a shame the museum isn't solely focused on the history of the town. Bury...More

This is not a large museum by any stretch of the imagination, but it certainly packs a lot in. It kept two adults and three children aged from 8 to 15, interested for well over an hour, and believe me, that takes some doing. The...More

What a gem this is, from the fascinating architecture and history of the building itself to the collections. Initially went out of curiousity to see the Marilyn Monroe photography exhibition (yes, in semi rural Suffolk) but were waylaid by so much else, especially the clocks....More

I was visiting Bury St Edmunds specifically to visit the museum and was not disappointed in any way. This beautiful 12th Century medieval building stands on the corner of the central square which is known for being the busy market place. Before I even entered,...More

There is something for everyone in this museum, from clocks to army history, from pictures to local crime. They often have temporary exhibitions of great interest, such as the life and work of Sybil Andrews. A very useful and inexpensive place, particularly on a wet...More

Dropped into this small museum during a recent visit to Bury St Edmunds. The collection is fairly eclectic and much of it held little interest to me (like the collection of grandfather clocks). However, what I did enjoy was the wonderful display of rarely seen...More
