Aldeburgh Cinema has been continuously showing films for almost 100 years, a feat made possible through the ingenuity of local heroes, starting with gentleman’s outfitter, Walter Hill, who originally built the auditorium alongside his shop. The Cinema was rescued from closure in the 1960s by the determination of remarkable individuals, including Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears, who devoted time and money to ensuring the little town of Aldeburgh still has its own cinema to this day.

Whilst on holiday phoned up and booked for live stream of Everybodies Talking About Jamie. Before going in had ice cream in very pleasant small walled garden area. The whole place felt easy going and not commercialised. Keep it up!

This is a great, traditional building with ample seating inside, so is rarely crowded. There is a good counter serving snacks and popcorn and plenty of tourist information brochures in the foyer area. It has comfortable seating and is reasonable priced.

Very good selection of films (though less World Cinema compared to previous years). Great that live Met Opera and National Theatre is broadcast here. Great Hot Chocolate for the interval. Up to date selection of films.

Went to see ‘Three Billboards ...’ last night. Poor film, but lovely little cinema, with wonderfully comfortable seats. Very relaxed place, with largely older clientele, and people able to take a glass of wine in with them! Not the most modern of places, and the...More

We booked to go and see Dunkirk, almost had the place to ourselves. Great screen and sound. Welcoming staff and you can even take your drinks in with you, which was a good bonus.

Went with my Mum and although our film choice was rubbish, the venue was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Comfortable seats and a nice temperature in the screen room.
