Although adjoining the Amerton Farm Complex, the little 2 foot gauge railway is independent and run entirely by volunteers. The trains are hauled by steam on Sundays with diesel hauled trains on Saturdays and midweek during the summer season. The line is 1½ miles in...More

Hidden away in the Staffordshire countryside, Amerton Railway is a narrow Gauge line staffed by volunteers. A circular track winds its way through surrounding fields and back to its 'main' Station. There are also tours of the workshops and great opportunities for lineside photography. If...More

Arrive, park and visit the railway. It's such a simple process to go through to arrive, pay and ride on the railway. All prices are very reasonable. This is completely volunteer led and they're doing fine. Two semi-open carriages carry passengers along the mile length...More

Given that the Santa trip was only really cheap this is worth doing. Santa was great with the children and did spend a few minutes chatting to us individually. I was just a little disappointed that there wasn’t much more to do there, they have...More

Hello, We're so glad that you enjoyed the railway, I'm sorry that your experience at our neighbours Amerton Farm was not up to standard, but we are a separate charity dedicated to the preservation of Staffordshire's railway heritage. We would very much like it if...More

Took our son here after visiting the farm immediately nextdoor. He's big into trains at the minute and absolutely loved it. It's very cute, from the ticket booth and small tickets to the track and the trains themselves. Cheap too. Recommended.More

We enjoyed two rides on this railway which is part of amerton farm. Lovely ticket office staff & train driver. Reasonable prices for a family of 6 and a little quiz sheet for the kids to spot things on the ride to tick off.
