This was our second visit to the castle museum. Set in lovely small grounds the castle houses all sorts from uniforms and medals to weapons and kit used by the infantry. Lots of displays and information not only historic but also the modern day troops....More

Had been meaning to visit this place for a while. And was not disappointed. Brilliant Military museum about the Shropshire Light Infantry.

Visiting the Salop Regimental Museum was one of the reasons for my visit to Shrewsbury. I was not disappointed. The displays were excellent. The gentleman at the desk also did some research for me whilst I was wandering around. Thanks.

Its set in an old Castle so as you'd expect accessibility would be an issue for many less mobile. A fee is paid on entry to the museum so if it's a fine day walk around the Castle for free. The story takes you to...More

Great for those with a keen interest in the military filled with lots of memorabilia. Make sure you walk up to Laura’s Tower for a spectacular view over Shrewsbury.

This is an excellent military museum which covers the whole history of this renowned regiment. My grandsons love it and it is a regular treat to take them there.

Did a tour by ourselves of the Castle and the Museum. Found it very informative and interesting. Entry of 3 pounds each was well worth the cost!!

It used to be free for Shrewsbury residents, not too sure if that's still the case

The weekend of 7th-10th September this museum, along with some other attractions in Shropshire, will have free entry for Heritage Weekend. Check the Heritage Open Days website for details.
