Great park area with landscaped gardens, large open areas, play parks, beautiful bridges over the Severn and walks along the river watching the rowers and saying hi to the long horned cattle. Lovely place

Lovingly restored by the community, this Shrewsbury urban park is a gem of tranquility edging the Severn and only steps from town

The Quarry or "the Dingle" as the locals call it is situated in Quarry Park. It really is a little gem whatever time of the year you visit. The Dingle was formally a stone quarry which was transformed by Percy Thrower. This sunken garden really...More

The gardens seem to look fabulous at any time of year. So well kept and carefully planted for best effect. I have visited 4 times now and each time taken a different person to see it.

Living in Shropshire we take a lot of stunning beautiful things for granted. But the Quarry is often overlooked and is a shame. The place is amazing if it’s just for a 5 minute stroll or to sit and take lunch or to stay longer...More

Beautiful flowers even in middle of May. Gardens were full of colour and a surprise (to me) was Percy Throwers bust in one border. Hadn’t realised he’d been head gardener there. Well worth a wander to get away from hustle and bustle of the town.

The Let's Rock website says to park at Meole Brace park and ride and that buses will then run to the Quarry.
