An unmissable, magical place, with a surprise around every corner. Beautiful landscaping, ancient trees, established rhododendron forest, fascinating follies, narrow gorges. We arrived later than planned and regretted it, this place is a full day out and we found ourselves rushing along trying to see...More
We visited for the Halloween Trial. Fantastic.Actors dotted around the park telling Halloween stories in character. The Witch in particular was amazing. The park itself is stunning, particularly in Autumn. We took a picnic, lots of places to stop and eat. Would highly recommend.
After paying to get in we visited the cafe first, planning to have a bite to eat before our walk. They offered a variety of breakfasts, including full English breakfast, as well as a range of hot & cold sandwiches & paninis. We chose items...More
We found this on a Groupon voucher and we are so glad we did. The follies and park are fantastic and I can only imagine what it must look like when it is in flower. In its current state of autumn it is a miriad...More
I loved this place - so did the kids especially the Halloween trail . The wizard had the kids transfixed doing his magic. The caves/ nooks and crannies were really special and we will definitely visit again!
Half term Halloween walk with husband, teenager and 🐶
So glad we came, thought it was a bit expensive until we realised what amazing experiences awaited us! Well worth the entrance fees to look after the park and protect it for years to come. Exhausted...More
Been coming here for years with our girls for walks and lunches.
Our daughters complain about a Sunday walk these days but they still join us and are always happy and they have completed the walk and then we go for lunch before driving home!
Having a walk around the follies is really nice, been a few times now and the scenery is spectacular. My review is about the Caspian restaurant. We ordered soup but they hadnt run out just didn't have any!! I ordered a toasted teacake that was...More

I fear it might be very difficult for a three-year old to manage. If you were able to carry them for quite a bit of it, then I think they might enjoy it, but it is very uneven and probably exhausting for all of you! And, I suspect they might not really appreciate the charm of the place. Sadly there is no "lite" version of it for people who want an easier, shorter visit. I hate to advise people not to go, because I love the place so much, but since you specifically use the words "justify the entrance fee", I think the answer is probably "no". If you had a larger group and one of them was that young, it might be different. Otherwise, keep in mind - and do go in a few years.
