I've been visiting Sheffield for a few years now, and never found the Ship's Bell - but finally found it on the south side of the Peace Gardens, next to the cafes.

Well, it IS a ships bell. But it doesn't commemorate some shipwreck or maritime tragedy or sea battle.
It is found in the Peace Gardens in central Sheffield, and commemorates 35th anniversary of the the 'twinning' of Sheffield with the town of Bochum, in Germany....More
