Thank you for that feedback. It is a quiet area at the moment. Once the Abbey is re-opened there will undoubtedly be more passers by. Thank you again for commenting so positively. Our Sculptor - Tom Murphy will be very pleased you liked it.

I was surprised at how strongly I felt when I saw this. It really is a lovely piece of artwork and it's brought Trooper Potts well and truly back to his roots 🙏 Bless hi

I recently found the new Trooper Potts pub in Whitley and the story was told inside. This is a great location for this new work near the Forbury lion with it's war connections.

These local heroes have finally got a fitting tribute. If you're wandering around town, go and visit this well presented memorial with its graphic explanation board of Trooper Potts's exploits. There are other interesting things very nearby to look at, as well - the Abbey...More

Finally a memorial to Readings only (as far as I know) VC winner, life size statue of the man dragging tpr Andrews to safety after both being wounded at Gallipoli. Co-located is the memorial to the men of the Berkshire Yeomanry who fell in war.More

Yes the only Reading VC. Our info boards note the Buller-Turner bothers who both were awarded the VC ( Alexander in WW1 and Victor in WW2), Alexander was born in Reading but did not live here for very long and is "claimed", rightly, by Thatcham...More
