If I had realised before arrival that you had to pay to park I wouldnt have bothered. That's not to say that the facilities offered at the Reservoir might not be worth it, but I assume if you are using the water/boating facilities, you have...More

I took my two dogs to the countryside walk. The walk started at the car park which costs £2. Dogs are forbidden around the reservoir and there are notices stating that dogs carry contamination so must be kept away from the reservoir which supplies drinking...More

Enjoyable walk around the reservoir (about 4 miles for both lakes). Big skys, lots of wildlife and dog free. Café good for light lunches and hot drinks. Good decaf coffee.

Great place to learn sailing, especially for kids / families. There's a good selection of dinghy available for hire or teaching use, and a decent chance of good wind.

We walked the two separate loops across and around the reservoir one 2 miles? one 3 miles? Or you can just walk the 4 mile circumference. Got chatting to a bird watcher who let us look through his lens at some migratory birds. Amazed by...More
