What a lovely spot for a walk especially this time of year. Parking slightly problematic, but compensated for by a charming little cafe providing lovely cakes. Yum.

Get the tram which is through the station towards pheonix park or hucknall and get off at the arboretum. It is a great place for a family picnic

Yes, it’s ideal for a picnic. Depending on your mum’s mobility it is walkable from the city centre; probably 20 to 30 minutes.
