From the High School tram stop just a short walk to the Arboretum with so many different trees and a well laid out formal flower garden. At the bottom of the hill is a duck pond and bird house and a newly opened cafe.

We were suggested this by Robert in tourist information. What a gem even with the lack of rain. Great place to unwind and a super cafe. They had a small but fresh menu. I recommend trying Hop Scotch, not easy in your mind sixties but...More

Get the tram which is through the station towards pheonix park or hucknall and get off at the arboretum. It is a great place for a family picnic

Yes, it’s ideal for a picnic. Depending on your mum’s mobility it is walkable from the city centre; probably 20 to 30 minutes.
