Green's Windmill is a restored 19th Century tower mill, once home to mathematical physicist George Green. Turning again since 1986, climb to the top of our windmill and see how our sails turn grain into flour. In our interactive Science Centre discover the remarkable story of George Green, and experiment with light, electricity and magnetism. There's something for all the family!

Green's windmill is so easy to get to, about a 10 minute walk from the centre, and well worth it. It is one of only a few surviving city windmills and is beautifully maintained and really interesting. It won't take long to visit, up to...More

The windmill is a hidden gem in Sneiton, and definitely worth a visit! Visitors can enter the mill and learn all about how the flour is made. Very impressive to see that it is still in use and so well maintained. There’s also a pretty...More

When we visited this Windmill they had it running - although not actually grinding that day (but you can buy some flour on site). A must for all children and the uninitiated into how our ancestors got their flour to make bread, free entry .....More

Percfectly walkable from the centre! If you head towards sneiton, and pass where the market would be it’s not far from there. You can use google maps or ask someone to point you in the right direction.

Hi, I wouldn't advise walking from the centre unless you are happy to walk for half an hour or so. There's not much around the windmill and so bare that in mind when you set off!
