Great for children and walks the grounds are very well kept and you can go on a rowing boat the water is only 4 foot deep (1/12 meters) there is a cafe if you want food all in all a nice day out

Word of warning,Do not allow your kids or anyone who can't swim go on a boat at highfields park because the life jackets don't work,I know this because my daughter almost drowned

I work on campus and it's lovely to wander round Highfield during free hours. Hard to believe you're near a city centre. You can walk all the way round the lake which is also great for runners.

Highfields provides a nice setting for a walk around the boating lake - ideal for couples, groups of friends or families. There is also the Lakeside cafe which serves coffees and lunch.

The cafe and arts centre have disabled access and the high fields park area and lakeside have suitable paths for wheelchair users!
