This used to be free entry but now you have to pay. Has a gallery it was quite magnificent pictures and a military museum in the castle surrounded by Lush Gardens and you can get a great view of Nottingham from there as well

Stopped in Nottingham over night. Found out the castle is actually closed until 2020 for refurbishment so was unable to visit here.

Can't review as it is closed for renovations until 2020. All we could see was some of the castle walls from outside, and the staue of Robin Hood, and some other statues and wall plaques.

The castle is closed for estimated 2 years for major work.so don’t visit Nottingham specifically to visit castle,but so much more to visit in Nottingham ,very vibrant city,great parks ,eateries etc.

I loved the visit to Nottingham Castle, so much to look at and great views. They told us they will be renovating the museum and grounds so closing for a little while but will be visiting again. Like how they have festivals throughout the year...More

The entrance fee is payable at the gate so you can’t enter the grounds without paying

hi sorry only seeing question now. yes it only takes an hour for the tour so you would have plenty of time.
