I have been here multiple times, however, when I moved here in May last year I found that this place was closed. It turned out that the museum sold items to a private seller for approx 21 million, therefore the museum authority has shut them...More

The museum is the home of a very good history of shoe making that the town of Northampton is noted for as well as other exhibits it is not well signposted but when you find it you will pleased you made the effort.

This museum is great, it is a real hidden gem of Northampton. The holiday workshops are great and the children love them. It's a shame they are held in the basement with no lighting. I can't wait for the new refurbished museum to reopen.

Have been to this fantastic shoe collection many times, but yesterday I dropped by only to find that it is closed until 2018 for adding on a building extension. Hopefully they will keep their website updated for reopening date.

Firstly if you love shoes this place is a must. We spent a couple of hours here and felt we had seen pretty much everything though there is a lot more reading to do if that's your thing. The shoes on display are varied and...More

Very good exhibition of Shoes & Shoe making, plus other things. I did not have time to see all the exhibitions.

While out for the day, we stumbled upon this small museum in the heart of Northampton town. It was a gem. My children and I enjoyed walking all around the museum especially finding out more about shoes and how they are made. My niece who...More

I and my 22 y.o. daughter went. She found the shoe exhibits most interesting. I breezed through them. Look for Elton John's boots from Tommy! I quit liked the oldest artifacts the best. We walked around the town center. Don't miss the Guildhall! Go in...More

There is a short stay car park on the same road as the museum. There are some dotted along the road as well. However I think they have a maximum of two hours stay.
