As others have said, be aware that there are 275 steps to climb, which are uneven and very narrow but if you are relatively fit then it is a very easy walk and takes about 10 minutes to get to the top. It is totally...More

Well... The view would be very beautiful and worth every step of climbing. But everything destroyed by the cage everywhere - even above you! I would be interested how many people tried to jump from here? I have never experienced this in any church or...More

My son did this and took amazing photo's, a birds eye view of the town, didn't realise you could do this - need a good head for heights though.

I loved the view over my beloved city, and would 10/10 recommend! We had so much fun climbing up those stairs, they're very steep and narrow - but that's what makes it authentic, isn't it? The literally only negative part in all this was, that...More

A long hard climb to the top of the tower, but worth it for the views all around York. Howardian Hills, the old toffee factory, the river and parks. Well worth the little extra for the views.

Our family did this climb as part of a visit to York Minster and found this to be a highlight of our visit to this world famous church. Although the climb involves a number of steps sometimes through some restricted access ways, most people will...More

We went to York Minster for the impressive architecture and stained glass which are very beautiful but decided to take the challenge of climbing the wet steps straight up to the top of the tower. The climb is hard and if you are at the...More
