This site is marred by the state of the grounds. It is a great shame that there are clearly locals who use this churchyard to let their dogs run around and foul the grass. It is a terrible shame and marrs what should be respected...More

Thanks to Tripadvisor for helping me discover the grave of notorious highwayman, Dick Turpin, not far from Fishergate Bar on the city's wall walk. I was aware that he was executed in the city, but surprised to discover a grave in consecrated ground. The inscribed...More

Most unimpressed The graveyard which contained Dick Turpins grave was surrounded by iron railings with a gate at one end. we walked past on two occasions and people were letting their dogs run around the graveyard digging and fouling everywhere shutting the gates behind the...More

On a treasure trail we came across this as part of our clues to solve. Friends we were with were unaware that he had been tried, executed and buried in York, so found thus fascinating. A small grave yard, opposite St George's church, it is...More

Well kept grave in a neat and tidy little corner of York, off the beaten track but nice to find and well worth a trip to The Phoenix Pub just down the road once you have found it

Such a shame that more hasn’t been done to make this a bit better to visit! It’s situated in a housing estate.....you go, you see....you tick the box!!

A novelty to visit this grave. Situated in St. Georges grave yard. The church is across the street. That too, is worth a visit. If you are visiting Cliffords Tower, the grave yard is only a matter of 5 minutes walk from there.

There grave is placed on a housing estate which I don’t think is right and they shouldn’t have been built there, but the grave is very interesting and there is a information board at the front of the graveyard, worth seeing.

This was not what I expected. Any surrounding graves were flat stones and it was a fairly open grass area. It was interesting to read the info board.
