The tour takes around 1 1/4 hours. Our guide was great, knowledgable and friendly. Kids had fun making their chocolate lolly. Cafe is very small, not helped by people sitting on 1 side of the tables. Shame as the boys wanted to try the fondue.
Monk Bar may be on the Shambles but the chocolate inside is anything but! The variety and quality of the chocolates are excellent and the hot drinking chocolate is fantastic. Our favourite is the chilli flavoured one.
We tried four different kinds of truffles - cherry, cognac, mocca, amaretto. All of them were outstanding. The nicest hostess, very pretty interior and tasteful presentation of exclusive homemade chocolates certainly add to the charms of this wonderful little chocolate shop.
My wife and I have been fortunate enough to taste quite a lot of good chocolate- we even once lived near a chocolate factory- and the bar we bought from this shop is up there with the best. Excellent value for money too.
