It is however where you can find the York art gallery. Also one of the entrances through the town walls into 'ancient'. York. A handy place to meet friends as seats to sit on while waiting, and on lots of bus routes.

The water feature is really the only point of interest in this square but it was incredible how much difference a bit of sunshine made to the feel of the place when we visited in August

There's a modest water feature and a busy road for company in this square. Nothing wrong with it but there's nicer areas of York to head for.

If you want a spot to watch the tourists, locals, buses etc this busy small square just outside the walls is for you. Otherwise it is probably just the way to the art gallery, gardens or toilets. Handy spot to agree to meet. Perhaps not...More
