£11 each to go into a church, no thank you. Very disappointed, Yes they need money to help with the upkeep but that way to much. There is also a lot of scaffolding in the centre of the church for the next two years.

This is a beautiful place to visit, it is huge in size and has plenty to see, you can go up the tower for an additional cost. Really enjoyed it. It was reasonably costed too.

York Minster is certainly well worth visiting , however like many of our churches/ cathedrals it has to charge visitors nowadays a hefty entrance fee to cover essential maintenance.

I was slightly wary about clambering up all those stairs (275 of them!), but it was worth it for the views over the city. I also had a look around the Minster and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, my timing wasn't quite right to attend Evensong...More

We were only in York for a few days but we were eager to see the Minster. Luckily, a Requiem was about to start and we joined the throng. As well as experiencing the astonishing interior of the minster itself, not spoiled too much by...More
