The day we visited we came in late and wouldn't have had much time to explore the cathedral before it closed for the day. Instead of buying tickets we decided to wait until 5:30 p.m. and get in for free during the church services that...More

the site was full of architectural features with lots of stained glass windows. We thought this attraction was a little expensive.

Definitely worth the visit. Beautiful historical church, with lots of interesting features. I did not go up the tower because I’m afraid of heights. I spent a good hour and a half inside touring.

Beautiful stained glass in this cathedral, some of which had just been renovated. Looked good on a sunny afternoon. Undercroft museum well worth a visit. There is so much to see.

We were cycling through York and stopped off at Cafe Concerto so we had an amazing view of the cathedral. Such an amazing piece of architecture.

I walked up the many stairs to get magnificent views from the top. This is an impressive building, which we did not get to spend enough time in.

I have traveled for 40 years. I have seen too many Cathedrals. This one is by far my favorite one. We travel in March in what turned out to be a snow storm...it was still amazing! Please go and enjoy!
