Kings Square is a small square at the hub of York city centre. As one might expect, it is generally busy with a lively atmosphere, and you will often find jugglers or other street artists entertaining the tourists. There is plenty to do round here...More

Not as large as Parliament Street area, famous for the Christmas Market and other large “happenings”, this is a main area for smaller events. You will often find street entertainers with great audience participation here. It is adjacent to the York Chocolate Story and just...More

Stalls, rides, shops, this place has it all at this time of year. Often missed as visitors walk from one attraction to another, this place had a bit of everything for all ages! Food stalls, drink stalls (including the ever popular mulled wine) and children's...More

Sadly again we didn't pick a time to visit when there were lots of street performers and entertainers. Very busy area but it does have a very safe feeling about it.

The layout makes this Square more of a Triangle, but all the better for seeing the Entertainers or buying from the Street Vendors. The Shambles if off to the south-western corner and there is pedestrian access to the permanent Market and to Parliament Street (another...More

This is a busy square off from the Shambles. Once the site of a church, it is now filled with street performers and entertainers.

As we finished walking throughThe Shambles we came into Kings Square. There was only a couple of buskers/street entertainers there on the day we were there. Nothing special compared to other areas of this fabulous city.

This is an interesting place to visit, mainly because it is such a mecca for street entertainers. It draws a big crows and we visit often, never having any trouble with "aggressive" entertainers mentioned in a recent review. So sorry those people had a poor...More

Sorry, no idea. However, you could contact the City of York Council who, I believe, license the Entertainers and set the dates and times that they can appear.
