We loved these gardens; great place to get away from the traffic and watch the world go by. Lovely to rest in between all the site-seeing we did in York.

The Museum Gardens are so pretty and peaceful! Though we did not have time, it would be a really nice place for a picnic.

These enjoyable well maintained city centre/riverside gardens are perfect for relaxing or picnicking after a hard morning's touring. But not just for relaxing - these are well laid out botanical gardens as well as being the site of the old St Mary's Abbey ruins.
