The game itself was good, the setting and surroundings were all really interesting. It was our first time playing, and while we didn't complete, we came close. If being critical, the chap who booked us in and explained the rules spoke very very quickly and...More
The setting was very atmospheric for the escape room and it was interesting to do a room themed around real events. There were some clever puzzles which involved different ways of thinking so everyone got a chance to shine. This room suits smaller groups as...More
Had a good time doing this room, it’s not an overly challenging room so we did well with 2, one experienced player and one complete novice. I’m glad we came to try this room and we are looking to complete more rooms with this company....More
Returned to try a second room whilst on holiday in the area. Friendly staff who accommodated a time slot for us as short notice. Great rooms with local history background (you don’t need to know any prior to playing, all the information is in the...More

This was a fantastic room with clearly a lot of thought put into how the clues linked together and applied to the local area. The puzzles were challenging but achievable which made it an enjoyable game for all involved. This is my 34th(?) room and...More
A brilliant way to celebrate your birthday with your friends and family! We booked two escape rooms 'Archived Alive' and 'Body of Evidence' and the hour flew by. One team managed to escape with seconds to spare and the other team were 2 clues away...More
Our hour flew past as we tried to free the archivist locked into the vault. We got so close to solving the final clue, but just ran out of time. The four of us really got into the game and it certainly gave my brain...More
History Mystery are a pretty unique entity in the escape room scene in UK in that they work closely with places of historical importance and for them this often leads to some interesting challenges/restraints in what they can or can't do. When you have constraints...More

Hi, our escape games are suitable for age 10 years and up and at least one adult must be present for groups that contain players under 16 years of age. Children under 8 years of age are not permitted in our standard escape game rooms as they are designed to be played by adults and older children, so do not contain elements suitable to entertain younger children for an hour. In addition, rooms are not designed to be child-safe and contain items, such as cupboard doors and small objects, that could be hazardous to young children whilst accompanying adults are distracted by the game. Any of our games that are suitable for younger children will be clearly advertised as being games for children. We hope this helps.
