We visited the playbarn on Monday. We went once when my little girl was about 16mths, she is now nearly 3 and a half. We very much enjoyed the experience then, but sadly not so much this time. Despite soft plays being allowed to open now, this one is still closed (even though tickets are being charged at full price) Luckily as 2 adults with one child this was still cheap, as adults are free, but if you have several children then not so much. The large sand pit is also shut and there are no donkey or tractor rides taking place or indoor toys. Food is very overpriced for what it is, even with the eat out to help out it didn’t come cheap and the service wasn’t great...piles of dirty plates everywhere left for ages, full of wasps, nobody available to get my husband some sauce and a really long wait for our food.Clearly understaffed or unable to cope with volume of numbers with no booking system.Would definitely taken a picnic if we had known, as some others had. The playhouses and recently replaced tractor slides/climbing frames were really good fun, however most of the outdoor activities seem to be centred around ride ons..great for some kids if they love that but my little girl doesn’t so we were limited in what she could do really, although she did enjoy the large outdoor climbing frame. Some toys looked rather tired.Mud kitchens had lovely potential but needed some more utensils and some mud! Animal farm was limited and would have been better if there was maybe sessions where the children could hold the animals or feed them. Also no info about the the animals such as names, which would have been interesting to know.My little girl did enjoy saying hello to the donkey over the fence. The creation station craft session was a nice addition, although I would rather have paid a small contribution if necessary and had multiple activities laid out to try, as it was limited to one per child, and our arty daughter wanted to try them all, haha. We will go back, as for us it is normally good value for money, but only when everything is open again,as at the moment I don’t feel it would be worth it...there wasn’t really enough to keep our daughter busy for that long.

We have been to the playbarn several times and the kids have enjoyed it. When we visited on the 19th Jan, found the indoor seating area to be untidy with an unpleasant smell like somebody had been sick, not ideal when little ones are magents for picking up germs ! Couple of the toys outside broke when my son picked them up, they should probably have been binned at the end of the summer season. Disappointing visit.

There's not too many places you can take three year olds on a Sunday that will keep them as entertained as this place. We used our spree voucher so we only paid for one and £1 per parent. They loved it, despite it being winter, they spent the majority outside on the diggers and tractors. They also enjoyed the sand area in the heated stable block.

Today we came here for the second time with our one year old. He loved crawling around and exploring the playrooms, especially the toy room where I think he found every toys with wheels in there. I’d like to see the under 4’s area made bigger and adapted with a few more things to climb on like the older section. We’re not keen on letting him play in the big area too much incase he gets squashed. Food and drink are lovely and reasonably priced. Would like it if staff were a little more aware of what was going on in. We were in the under 4’s area until a large group of people came along with boys who were definitely older than 4. They were jumping around on top of each other, jumping of the soft play, throwing balls. Not very safe for a one year old to be in and parents didn’t seem bothered.
