I visited just before lunch on a wednesday. The entrance was filled with children painting and looked to be having fun.

I love art galleries, but I don't know who is in charge of this place but the art is not great, wouldn't recommend this for tourists really. They need to visit the galleries in London to see how it SHOULD be done.
Visited MIMA today for first time. Really impressed. Thought provoking exhibitions (you could probably spend between one and two hours on them) and great cafe - excellent food (recommend the very tasty salads, quiche, frittata, scones...!) and well priced. Staff very friendly too.

This museum is currently undergoing senior management changes which changes the emphasis of the museum and exhibitions (At least it did on the last change of director). So, even if you may have been here before a 2nd visit would be worthwhile.

Had a visit during the home exhibition and it was quite interesting, different materials used in construction and social housing etc, this was topped off with a visit to the excellent cafe....it's definitely a big plus when going to the MIMA and it's very good...More
