Easily accessed by 101 bus from Wanstead or East Ham underground stations. Beautiful gardens and monumental statuary. Very good café at entrance (open daily until 3.30pm). One suggestion I’d make is for a map identifying graves of the famous (such as Bobby Moore).

Such a inexpensive and beautiful cafe with serene surroundings and the cemetery itself is worth a walk around. The grounds are impeccable.

I travelled up from Wales to take a service here and the place is massive with a lot of history and apparently with a million internment's! The facilities were easy to use and the staff were very helpful. At the end of the service we...More

Sounds very morbid but had a wonderful guided tour on Open London day. Lasted 3 hours and found out so much about the cemetery and history. Visited the catacombs and the workings of the crematorium which were fascinating and took some of the mystique out...More

It does seem a bit odd reviewing a cemetery, but the City of London Cemetery is quite grand. Once you go through the arched entrance, the vastness of this space hits you; the centuries old tombs and gravestones are beautiful to look at, and I...More

Wonderful, peaceful place with much significance. Cafe is really good too. Remember looking for bobby Moore's memorial, took ages and when found was tasteful and understated like the man himself. Had the pleasure of attending an event on a film about the crem by a...More

Wonderful, peaceful, sadly here for a funeral but it's a lovely last resting place to be, the various Chapels are very impressive and as you drive along the graves and tombs are interesting too

Probably one of the more bizarre reviews I have written, the only reason I have ever come here is to go to funerals, it serves it's purpose, lots of nice old headstones to peruse. There is a nice cafe just at the entrance, where you...More
