Severndroog Castle is situated in Oxleas Woods and if you visit its best to park at Oxleas Cafe and walk through the woods. Don't think this is a massive castle it's not it's more of a monument. The view from the top is amazing and...More

This place is a little difficult to find, but once you do it is simply stunning. The people who work there are well-versed in its history and even a bit of gossip about the folly. The coffee shop on the ground floor is nice and...More

Fantastic building in the middle of the woods, if you want history, views, food and walks. This is the ideal combination. The area is lucky that this has been saved from crumbling away and the use of cafe, viewing platform and charity events has saved...More

This is built in memory of Sir William James by his wife. It overlooks Eltham and London. There is a nice little coffee shop. Limited opening hours - and do not plan to visit at 4 pm ! Local school makes access hairy !

Severndroog castle has a terrific cafe serving great coffee. It makes a handy spot to stop for a Penelope on a woodland ramble. They also have a range of savoury snacks and some delicious cakes.

A lovely quirky location in the woods; a. Ice spot to have a peaceful cuppa. The cafe is tiny and only has 4 indoor tables very close together, but there are a lot of outdoor tables if the weather permits. I found the cafe to...More

A beautiful castle style folly with great views over much of London. It can be hired for a small private function or wedding. Take advantage of the views at night, especially Bonfire Night, 360 degree fireworks. Take a relaxing walk through the beautiful woodland that...More

I'm not sure, but I saw an event advertised in the local Mercury paper and went straight to Severndroogs website but it was fully booked. I am going to regularly check their website in future

The castle has its own free car park down a signposted lane next to christchurch school. Entry to the castle is £3 or £2.50 for concessions. But very sorry there is no lift as it is a small 250 yr old building.
