Lovely to see a statue to our Greatest ever Prime Minister. The elder statesman and right the first statue next to Parliament.

This status of Winston Churchill Statue in Parliament Square has been there since 1973. He was Prime Minister from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. He is considered one of the 20th century's most significant figures, but not with some considerable controversy...More

The statue is not that impressive but the location is opposite Whitehall and the Houses of Parliament and the only PM with such a statue which is probably a reflection of Winston's influence on history.

Churchill has a lot to be thanked for in the many years he served his country, he stood firm through the difficult times of both World Wars, he served his country in the Military and as a Politician - a fine Statesman.

I remember this statue going up when I was a kid. It has a sense of presence about it, and I guess that opposite parliament it has some gravitas. It's never been one of my favourites, though.

If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a
grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to

Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square,
and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham
Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just
up the road as well. As captivating as the
architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are
