I ADORE this place. Every time I visit London, no matter how much time I don't have, I make time to get to this place. I adore it! Sausage rolls, a pint, and a few laughs in the alley way or in the amazingly old...More

Most pubs are owned by the same brewer. This is an actual, tucked in an alley, out of the way pub. Absolutely worth a visit.

Found this pub last week while in a very wet London. Went down a smart street ( where it costs £2500 per year to park your car) and down a small alleyway there it was. Smashing little place, think three rooms. Looks ancient. Bonus was...More

Hi Clive, Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub, indeed ancient as it was built in 1546! Glad the rain brought you in and hope to see you again soon even on a sunny day!

I always bring friends to this little pub - friendly service, great choice, funky decor and historic site.. can't beat this. It does get completely crowded - but it's just lovely. Don't miss it - it's just at the beginning of Hatton Garden.

Hi MildaLeo, Thank you for the review, happy to know you recommend the pub to your friends and that you still enjoy the atmosphere as much as the first time you came along. See you again very soon.

If you go to one pub in London, make Ye Olde Mitre! Built in 1546, they say Queen Elizabeth (THE FIRST!) drank here and danced around the cherry tree out front. The last hold-out of Catholics in this Protestant town, don't be surprised to see...More

My return to this iconic tavern was a dream come true. Judy was exceptionally welcoming to us. After much sightseeing (we are from Alabama, USA), the ale and crisp sandwich were perfect refreshments. Upstairs was quiet; the walls were filled with framed articles and art...More

It was lovely to meet you and we were so glad to able to share your memories. Give your Dad a big hello from the Ye Olde Mitre team.

Yes it’s small and hidden, but easily feels the most authentic of almost any pub I’ve been in. Very few tourists... soak up the ambiance. Get there fairly early to get in the door, or plan on standing in the alley- which is also fine.

Hi Susan, some pubs allow under 18's in. As we here at Ye Olde Mitre are so small without a kitchen we are over 18's only. Many thanks
